Working in healthcare has numerous benefits and rewards. As a medical assistant, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from highly competent physicians and other medical professionals. Your work is regarded as a critical component of clinical patient care. And with continuous growth and the proliferation of medical offices across the country, this field is only getting bigger. It is, without a doubt, a career with many opportunities.
A Patient Care Technician is a nationally recognized designation for licensed nurse aides with phlebotomy and EKG training. To prepare students to secure a job in homes, hospitals, general surgery units, and other healthcare facilities, we designed a program that combines face-to-face lectures and skill laboratories to let the students engage in meaningful learning and training experiences. This program gives you the skills and knowledge you’ll need to work as a Patient Care Tech in a clinical setting.
Phlebotomists may work in clinical laboratories, hospitals, community health centers, nursing homes, doctor’s offices, blood donation centers and other health care facilities. They are commonly supervised by a clinical laboratory technologist or other medical professional. In medical and diagnostic laboratories, patient interaction is sometimes only with the phlebotomist. This allows a unique opportunity to positively impact the patient’s experience.
Phlebotomy is the surgical involvement of a needle taking or introducing fluid to a body be that blood or medicine. With this course, you will learn the responsibilities involved in being involved in such an important task.
Pharmacy technicians are the liaisons between medical professionals, doctors, pharmacists, insurance companies and patients.
You’ll gain hands-on experience taking courses in our real-world labs in the first semester. As a certified pharmacy technician you will:
-prepare a greater variety of medications, such as IV medications
-compound or mix some medications
-interact with physicians on prescription refill authorizations
-operate automated dispensing equipment when filling prescription orders
-make rounds in hospitals, giving medications to patients
Our Medical Billing and Coding students will learn the particular skills needed to accurately record, register, submit, track and convert patient information into insurance claims. Students will also learn the necessary medical terminology, classifying data, health services and information systems, along with other topics relevant to the field.
We teach our student with real medical practice management software and medical coding reference books.
